The Smithy Gallery and Clay Studio
About
The Smithy Gallery and Clay Studio is housed in the oldest building in Cooperstown, a blacksmith’s shop built in 1786. Today the old smithy holds three floors of exhibition space for artwork by local and regional artists.
The gallery opens each summer with three themed exhibitions, and a garden behind the building is a pleasant place to bring lunch and look at outdoor sculpture. Classes and workshops run year-round for anyone who wants to get their hands busy.
