Syracuse Youth Chorus

About

Syracuse Youth Chorus is a youth choir with a big goal: to give every young person in Central New York the chance to sing in a chorus. The group aims to teach singers about music while helping them grow into good citizens of the world.

The chorus is influenced by the Syracuse Children’s Chorus, founded by Dr. Barbara Marble Tagg, who led it as artistic director from 1981 to 2010. When that group dissolved in 2018, it left a hole in the local music community. The new chorus aims to bring choral singing back to young people in the area.
