About

The Syracuse University Art Museum is free and open to all, welcoming students, locals and travelers to Syracuse University’s historic campus. Its collection holds more than 45,000 objects spanning 5,500 years of global art history, making it one of the ten largest academic art collections in the United States.

Highlights include works by Salvador Dalí, Berenice Abbott and Sir Joshua Reynolds, alongside contemporary pieces by Stephanie H. Shih, James Little and Peter B. Jones. The museum also works as a museum without walls, with more than 30 monumental sculptures and murals around campus, including Ben Shahn’s mosaic The Passion of Sacco and Vanzetti and Rico Lebrun’s Crucifixion.
