Shane Pinard Future Fisherman Foundation

Shane Pinard Future Fisherman Foundation was created in memory of Shane Pinard, a young man whose love of fishing began along the canal and grew into a lifelong passion for sharing the sport. His family co-founded the organization in Canastota, and it now carries his legacy forward.

The foundation gives children and teens in grades K–12 the chance to learn about fishing through free monthly outings, classes and tournaments. Experienced young anglers can move up to the Junior Anglers program and cast alongside veteran fishermen on the lake. It grew from Shane’s dream of starting a youth fishing program.
