Salt City Market

About

Salt City Market is a food hall and public market in Syracuse, created by the Syracuse Urban Partnership, a nonprofit under the Allyn Family Foundation. It is built around food, culture and people building generational wealth by doing what they love, and it puts that idea to work through its stalls.

Inside are 10 independently owned food stalls, a cafe and bar, retail space and a grocery store, along with a community room, a teaching kitchen and a playground. The mix makes it as much a community hub as a place to grab lunch.

What to Know

  • Ten independently owned food stalls share the space.
  • A grocery store, Syracuse Cooperative Market, operates inside the building.
  • A teaching kitchen and a community room give the market a role beyond the food stalls.
  • There is a playground, which helps when kids are along.
  • The market doubles as a meeting space and venue, and Southern cooking is part of the food lineup.
