Pizza 23 West

About

Pizza 23 West is an Italian restaurant in Oneonta, started by Richie and Penny, a couple who visited town and fell in love with the people they met. They decided to bring a little bit of Italy to West Oneonta, with pasta dishes, pizza, salads, subs and desserts.

Specialties include Eggplant Parm, Chicken Parm, Veal Parm and Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce. The specialty pizzas include the Grandma Pizza, made with plum tomatoes, fresh garlic, basil and olive oil, along with a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza and a White Garlic Pizza. Most nights, Penny greets guests out front while Richie moves around the busy kitchen.

What to Know

  • Richie’s homemade cannoli are the dessert to save room for.
  • The Grandma Pizza is topped with plum tomatoes, fresh garlic, fresh basil and olive oil.
  • Pizza can be ordered just the way you like it, in addition to the specialty pies.
  • Oneonta is home to SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College, two campuses within a few miles.
  • The owners are on site most nights, which gives the place a family-run feel.
