Otsego Lake Public Boat Launch

About

The Otsego Lake Public Boat Launch gives boaters access to the water at the south end of Otsego Lake, in the village of Cooperstown. A second access point sits at the opposite end of the lake in Glimmerglass State Park, where only car-top launches are allowed.

Boats must be clean of vegetation, and they are inspected before launching, part of the community’s effort to protect the lake. On-site parking is limited, including for trailers, but additional parking is available at the Trolley Lots. The Cooperstown area is also active in research on harmful algal blooms.

What to Know

  • A launch fee applies, and multiple-launch passes are available.
  • The village launch is known locally as the Fish Road Boat Launch.
  • At Glimmerglass State Park on the far end, only car-top launches are allowed.
  • Boats are inspected for vegetation, so arrive with a clean hull.
  • Parking is limited, with additional spaces at the Trolley Lots.
