Northup Gallery & Drum Museum

About

Just under a mile from downtown Oneonta, Northup Gallery & Drum Museum is a rustic barn gallery that specializes in antiques, fine art, Mission furniture and vintage lighting. The owner also brokers new furniture, lighting, rugs and accessories for several well-known brands, so it works as a shop for new pieces as well as old.

The most unusual part of a visit is the drum museum, a tour back to the early 1900s, the era of vaudeville, speakeasies and hot jazz, showing how drums evolved with the music into the modern drum set. Vintage drums and percussion accessories are on display, and visitors may even get a chance to play them.
