Middlefield Orchard

About

About ten minutes east of Cooperstown, Middlefield Orchard is an agri-tourism farm built around U-pick fruit. Berry picking comes first, with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, and then apples and pumpkins take over as the season turns toward fall. It makes a good side trip from the village for families with a free afternoon.

The orchard grows more than twenty apple varieties, and the family activities are free: hayrides, a corn maze, a corn stalk teepee, a hay fort and hay people. A farm stand also sells fresh vegetables grown on the property, handy for anyone heading back to Cooperstown with a full basket.
