Mexico Trail Riders, INC

About

Less than an hour north of Syracuse, in the snowbelt of Oswego County, Mexico Trail Riders, INC is a snowmobile club based in Mexico. The club maintains more than 50 miles of trail, far enough from Tug Hill to avoid the crowds but close enough to reach it in an hour or two by sled.

The trails wind through deep woods, open into large fields and follow an abandoned railway bed trimmed almost to perfection. Volunteers keep the brush and low limbs cut back while signing and grooming. Several spots along the trail serve food, and a NAPA in Mexico stocks belts, oil and plugs for the unexpected.
