Lawrence Woodworks
About
Lawrence Woodworks makes handmade furniture in Hamilton, the Madison County village that is home to Colgate University. The shop draws inspiration from Shaker and farmhouse styles and specializes in seating, casework and tables. The pieces are built to be used every day rather than admired from a distance.
The focus is less on style and more on good design: well-judged proportions, careful wood selection and solid handmade joinery. The pieces aren’t meant to chase fads or follow tradition for its own sake, but to be functional and beautiful together and to last for generations.
