Housing Visions

About

Declining and blighted neighborhoods are where Housing Visions does its best work. The Syracuse nonprofit builds and manages quality affordable rental housing, and it was formed in 1990 to revitalize the East Genesee Street corridor on the city’s east side before growing to transform neighborhoods in nine cities across Upstate New York.

The organization is vertically integrated, handling real estate development, general contracting and property management itself, and it runs a resident-driven anti-poverty initiative based on the Circles methodology. Its projects use the Low Income Housing Tax Credit and other federal, state and local funding to bring declining and blighted properties back to life.
