Glimmerglass State Park
About
Glimmerglass State Park overlooks Otsego Lake, just north of Cooperstown, the lake that James Fenimore Cooper nicknamed Glimmerglass in his Leatherstocking Tales. The park is open year-round, with a different set of outdoor activities each season.
Visitors can camp, hike, bike, fish, swim, picnic and rent canoes and kayaks, and winter brings cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, ice skating and ice fishing. The park also includes Hyde Hall, a historic 50-room country house open for tours, and a picnic pavilion and two enclosed rooms can be rented for gatherings.
