Fetterley Forest Conservation Area

About

High on Panther Mountain above Canadarago Lake, Fetterley Forest Conservation Area covers 106 acres near Richfield Springs. It sits on the ridge that runs east of the lake and Oaks Creek, and the land stayed in the Fetterley family from 1867 until siblings Judy and Dan Fetterley donated it.

The donation honors their parents, Ray and Mary Fetterley, and fulfills a dream of opening the woods to the community. Today it is a working forest that has been sustainably harvested for generations, with two scenic trails maintained by the Otsego Land Trust and panoramic views of Canadarago Lake and Deowongo Island.
