Cortland Dairy Parade

About

The Cortland Dairy Parade is a summer festival in which close to 100 entries march down Main Street in Cortland to honor the importance of the dairy industry to the community. It is a parade with plenty of costumes. Dairy is a major part of the community, and the parade says so loudly.

Area businesses, nonprofit organizations, youth groups and high school marching bands take part. Participants are decked out in cow costumes, milk mustaches, ice cream cones, wedges of cheese and milk cartons, which makes for a cheerful, slightly goofy procession.
