Copper City Chiefs
About
The Copper City Chiefs are a semi-professional hockey team that brings the sport back to Rome for the 2026-27 season. They play in a semi-pro league, giving Oneida County fans live, local hockey to follow through the winter. Rome is a city in Oneida County, in the Mohawk Valley.
The Copper City half of the name is Rome’s longtime nickname, so the team arrives with some local history built in. For local fans, it is a chance to catch a game close to home instead of driving a long way for a night at the rink.
