Cooperstown Summer Music Festival
About
The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival brings live classical and other music to a village best known for baseball. Artistic director Linda Chesis saw Cooperstown as an ideal setting for a festival, and it began in 1999 with just three events. It has grown into a regular part of the summer arts scene in Otsego County.
Since then the festival has offered the region more than 150 performances, from classical to contemporary, jazz to bluegrass and cabaret to kids’ concerts. Past artists include Midori, the Tokyo String Quartet, John Pizzarelli, Bill Charlap and Mark O’Connor, and highlights have been heard on WCNY, WMHT and WSKG.
