Central Square Railroad Museum
About
A train station finished in 1909 now houses the Central Square Railroad Museum, a railroad history museum in Oswego County. It has both indoor and outdoor displays, plus a railroad library for anyone who wants to dig deeper. It is a natural stop for rail fans and history buffs.
The lower level of the station has the look of the original depot, with life-size mannequins dressed in period clothing. The New York, Ontario & Western Railroad built the station, but the cost was shared with the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburg Railroad, which later became part of the New York Central System.
