Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery

Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery in Elbridge, Onondaga County, raises about 70,000 brook, brown and rainbow trout each year to stock fishing waters around the area. It is a working hatchery and a kid-friendly place to see where stocked trout begin their lives before heading out to local waters.

The hatchery runs an annual Time-Out-To-Fish program for seniors and special populations, giving them a relaxed chance to fish. Groups of five or more can schedule a guided tour, which makes it a good outing for classes, scout troops and families.
