Canoe & Kayak Rentals and Sales is a paddling outfitter based in Portlandville, about 15 minutes south of Cooperstown, where its flagship store and rental fleet have operated since 2009. A second rental location at Glimmerglass State Park puts paddlers right on the water at the north end of Otsego Lake.
Paddlers can explore Otsego Lake, the Susquehanna River or Goodyear Lake. At the state park, boats launch right off the sandy beach into Hyde Bay, with Shadow Brook to explore. Senior staff are certified American Canoe Association instructors who can teach beginner basics or offer expert refreshers.
