Wer-On-Um Guide Service is a family-run hunting and fishing outfitter in Cooperstown, with trips planned year-round. In summer and fall the focus is on fishing charters on Otsego Lake, the lake that sits right beside Cooperstown.
Other offerings include rainbow trout fishing in a farm pond on a state-licensed preserve, where no fishing license is required, and small game and deer hunting. Pheasant and chukar hunts take place on the Wer-On-Um Pheasant Preserve in the Helderberg Mountains. Beginners, women and youths are all welcome.
