Truxton Snowmobile Club

About

Truxton Snowmobile Club keeps a network of groomed snowmobile trails running through the hills of eastern Cortland County. Its trails serve East Homer, Truxton, Solon, Taylor Valley, McGraw and Cuyler, with 87 miles of funded trail in all, and every bit of the work is done by volunteers.

The club has come a long way. In the 1970s dues were a dollar, and the trails were farm fields and town roads that rode smooth only after fresh snow. Support through the New York State Snowmobile Association brought grooming equipment and trail insurance in the 1980s and 1990s, and members have since built more than a dozen bridges.
