The Pompey Club
About
The Pompey Club is a private 18-hole championship golf course in the town of Pompey, about 10 miles south of Syracuse. The course looks out over the Butternut Creek Valley, which gives a round of golf a pleasant backdrop in the hills of southern Onondaga County.
Away from the course itself, the club has a large driving range, a short game area, a putting green and a practice bunker. A pro shop, a full clubhouse restaurant, a snack shack, lockers and showers cover the rest. Membership comes in junior, senior, corporate and family versions.
What to Know
- The course is private, so play is built around membership rather than walk-on rounds.
- Five sets of tees, from red to black, let golfers of different levels pick a fitting challenge.
- The course rating is 71.1 with a slope of 127.
- Members get reciprocal play at several local golf courses.
- Visit Syracuse features the club for its outdoor and golf appeal.
