Scriba Historical Society
About
Created by an act of the State Legislature passed on April 5, 1811, the Town of Scriba in Oswego County is the subject of Scriba Historical Society. The society preserves the story of the town, which was set to come into being in March 1812.
At the first town meeting, held in March 1812, Oswego County did not yet exist. Scriba and Volney were formed from the town of Fredericksburg in Oneida County, and Oswego County was not created until 1816. That makes Oneida County records worth a look for anyone researching early Scriba families.
