Remsen Depot

About

The Remsen Depot is a historic railroad site in Remsen, in northern Oneida County. The building was rebuilt in 1999 to replicate the station that stood on the site in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, bringing back a piece of the village’s railroad past.

Railroad stations were once the center of small-town life, where passengers, freight and mail all passed through. Rebuilding one gives Remsen a landmark that connects residents and visitors to that era, and it pairs well with a stop at the village’s other historic sites.
