Oz-Stravaganza

About

Oz-Stravaganza is Chittenango’s hometown celebration of L. Frank Baum, the author who was born in the village and gave the world the Land of Oz. The festival honors the man behind the Oz books and the place that still claims him proudly, right down to its yellow brick sidewalks.

Baum wrote many Oz books along with other stories for children, but The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is the one everyone knows, thanks in large part to the 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz. Chittenango leans into that legacy, and the festival gives fans of all ages a reason to visit the Madison County village.
