Oneonta Family YMCA
About
The Oneonta Family YMCA is a nonprofit community organization in Oneonta, the Otsego County city that is also home to SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College. Its stated mission is to make the support and opportunities that help people and communities learn, grow and thrive available to everyone.
Like other Ys, it sits where health and fitness, youth programs, and sports and leisure meet. That makes it as much a family gathering place as a spot to work out, with something to draw in kids, parents and neighbors from across the city.
What to Know
- It is a nonprofit, so the focus is on community benefit rather than profit.
- Youth programs and sports are part of the picture, alongside health and fitness.
