Nichols Pond County Park
About
Set on the former site of an Oneida village and the 1615 Champlain-Oneida battleground, Nichols Pond County Park is a 45-acre park near Canastota in Madison County. It invites a quiet, reflective visit, with short nature trails and signs that tell the story of the land.
Trails lead to an observation deck over a wetland alive with birds, and picnic pavilions with grills make it easy to linger with family or friends. The park is also a good place to see the Fenner Wind Power Project, and in winter the same gentle paths welcome cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
