Masterworks Chorale
About
A community choir with roots in Marcellus, Masterworks Chorale has been singing in Onondaga County for decades. It began there in 1965 as the Marcellus Chorale, founded by church choir director Joseph Centrone after fellow directors showed interest in forming a larger community ensemble. It remains a community ensemble built around choral masterworks.
The group took its current name in 1996 to reflect a growing membership committed to choral masterpieces. Maureen McCauley led the chorale from 1977 to 2011, and Kip Coerper has served as conductor and music director since 2013. Its mission is to perform, promote and preserve choral music.
