Maple Hollow Farm in Hannibal is a working sugar house that welcomes visitors for guided tours. The farm takes part in New York State Maple Weekends in March, when guests can see up close how pure maple syrup is made, from sap to the finished product.
On the tour, guests experience the sweet aroma of syrup in the making over a large wood-fired evaporator. They also sample fresh maple syrup and three flavors of maple cream. Outside, the guides explain how to tell the sugar content of the sap in the tree and the different ways it is collected.
