Leatherstocking Golf Course

Leatherstocking Golf Course is the 18-hole championship course at The Otesaga, the resort hotel on the shore of Otsego Lake in Cooperstown. Designed in 1909 by Devereux Emmet, it follows natural contours along the lake’s western shoreline, with views from a variety of elevations. The setting is lakeside, with views from many different spots on the course.

Many golfers consider it one of the most scenic and challenging resort courses in the East. The finish is memorable: the 17th is a par 3 that plays up to 195 yards over water, and the 18th is a par 5 with an island tee and a fairway along the lake. Afterward, lunch or a cold drink waits on the Pro Shop Patio or the Otesaga’s Veranda.
