Historic Armory Square District

About

Shopping, dining and nightlife all come together in Historic Armory Square District, downtown Syracuse’s walkable neighborhood. The square takes its name from the old armory building at its center, which now houses the Museum of Science and Technology, known to locals as the MOST, and it’s an easy place to browse on foot.

The square is easy to explore on foot, with a leisurely browse being half the fun. The MOST’s 60-foot IMAX screen adds a movie option to the mix, so there is a plan for just about any kind of afternoon or evening out in the city.

What to Know

  • The district is compact and walkable, so you can park once and wander.
  • The MOST, with its 60-foot IMAX screen, anchors the square in the former armory.
  • Shopping, dining and nightlife are all within a few blocks of each other.
  • Visit Syracuse features the district as a destination.
