Cherry Knoll Farm
About
Settled around 1850 by Lester Hall, Cherry Knoll Farm in Marathon, in Cortland County, has stayed in the same family ever since. Today it is a u-pick farm, and it is also home to a winemaker from the sixth generation of the family.
The farm takes its name from a grove of black cherry trees that once stood on the knoll near the edge of the property. The original plank house, framed with hand-hewn beams and remodeled several times, still stands as the home of winemaker Terry K. Perfetti.
