About
The Brookfield Trail System is a network of more than 130 miles of trails spread across about 13,000 acres of state forest in Brookfield, in Madison County. It’s open for hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Brookfield is a rural town in the hills of southeastern Madison County.
Rolling hills, wooded paths and well-maintained routes make it a year-round recreation spot. The Moscow Road assembly area has facilities for up to 150 horses, along with a pavilion, a picnic area and camping amenities, which makes it a handy base for riders who come for the day or the weekend.
